The two new guys have done it!
Looks like the wedding and two week honeymoon in between the semi final and final of the pairs had no effect on Shannon's bowling as he and Colin won a very tough final by one shot.
Congratulations to both Shannon and Colin on a great effort throughout the tournament, and to Lee Williams and Don Jones who also played very good bowls to make it through to the final.
Update.... The pairs final will now be between the pairs of Shannon James/Colin White and Lee Williams/Don Jones. The Williams/Jones combination defeated evergreens Eric Butcher and Neville Fraser in a tough semi final. Don and Lee are both playing exceptional bowls at the moment and should be favourites to take this out, but don't forget the opposition is also at peak form. Shannon is currently unavailable for comment - he on his honeymoon and hopefully Sue will have him back in top form for the final on Sunday 16th march.
So thats how he does it! An unusual bowling action but it does look like he is having fun.
Ernie has taken all before him in the last seven years, managing to win the coverted Singles Title six times, making the semi-finals in the one out year.
A very popular club member and player at Eltham whether it is bowling, coaching or helping around the greens each week. It must an honour for those lucky enough (and of course good enough) to play with him in all the club championship games as he seems to have won most of them in the past few years.
Ernie's rink in the number one pennant side is very rarely beaten and has an excellent average winning margin.
Congratulations to a fine champion.
